James R. Hammer, CPWA®, CFP®, ChFC®, CBEC

With constant changes in a complex world, you need an exit planning advisor you can trust, one that will listen to you and help you reach your financial goals. Jim Hammer embodies those traits and has a passion for serving clients first.

Jim works closely with Equity Strategies Group (ESG) providing support through business owner market research and exit planning opportunities. Jim's goal is to make sure that business owners navigate the terrain successfully by helping them understand their Exit options, preparing them for the Exit Planning process, connecting them with their Investment Banking, Mergers & Acquisitions or other experienced professionals, and advising them throughout the process.

Jim holds the FINRA Series 7 and 66 registrations, as well as the Life & Health Insurance licenses. He holds the Certified Private Wealth Advisor (CPWA®), CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) and Certified Business Exit Consultant (CBEC®) certifications, as well as the Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC®) designation. He is a member of the Financial Planning Association’s NexGen group, as well as the Bergen County Estate Planning Council. He also serves on the Johns Hopkins Blue Jays Unlimited (BJU) Board of Advisors as the men’s basketball liaison.

Jim is a graduate of Johns Hopkins University with a B.A. degree in Economics and a minor in Entrepreneurship & Management. He participated on the Varsity Basketball team where he was a four-year letter winner and co-captain his senior season. In his free time, Jim enjoys sports, spending time with his family and friends, and traveling. He currently resides in Jersey City, NJ with his wife, Annie, and dog, Hoops.
